Bombers attacking the Yard tonight

After the rainout last night, it will feel good to back to business tonight with the Dubois County Bombers flying into town. The Bombers have one game and win under their belt, and I’m sure they’re looking for another against Fulton.

The Railroaders may have had a bad outing against Madisonville on Friday, but they’re loading up for the Bombers and be looking to improve their 1-1 record with a win over the 2015 league champs tonight. It should be a good game and great weather for baseball.

It is still early in the season, with no clear picture on the real strengths of any team yet. In the first 3 days of the season and 9 total league games scheduled, only 5 have been played with 4 rained out.

Spirits are high though at the Yard and the Railroaders are starting to come together as a team. If you’re in the area, come on out to Yard for the game and check out the new "Taco Dog" on the food menu. If not, join us on TeamLine as Josh returns to help call the game. Fire it up!

  8. Fulton needs to start hitting the ball. Get aggressive at the plate. Pitchers need run support

  12. Yes the ump calls would make a difference. Pitchers adjust to his zone. But not if it keeps changing

  13. Combination of many issues. Pitchers are making a lot of pitches (way too many walks)and when that happens your defense will make errors (you can count on that). Then, of course, they have to make more pitches and it's a vicious circle. Also, no timely hitting. Not all of the umpires fault but it sounds like hitters are swinging at pitches out of the strike zone because they are afraid to be called out on a pitch off of the plate. Can't go deep in counts with these umpires. It sounds like a guessing game but it's hard to blame the umpires when the visiting team has 10 runs and I lost count of how many hits. Hopefully, we get back to basics, pitch to contact and start making some plays for our pitchers. Also, we need to start being aggressive at the plate and on the bases. Good players on this team so I hope they start having some fun and turn this train around.
