Called upon for a Super Effort

The Railroaders pulled out their last game at the Firebirds with a win, and at what price? These guys played a 15 inning game in Farmington that ended around 11:30 pm, then had to face a 3 1/3 hour trip back to Fulton. Now tonight their go to the dog pound and face the Greyhounds for 3 straight nights. It’s time to "Shazam" and transform our team into the super players I know they are.

We’re 3-1 on the road trip thus far with 3 more to go. We are only 3 games behind the Oilers, who face off with the 2nd place Pirates for 3 nights. The Pirates are just a half game ahead of us. Let’s get some wins over the Dogs and put some more distance between us, while the Oilers and Pirates fight it out for first and second place. We’ll be able to slide into home for the Monday’s home game series with the Oilers and whip up on them for 3 nights.

Let’s get the steam pressure up some more and fly to UC, the engine will take it. Look out Greyhounds, here we come!

  1. Wow, you are so right Hoghead, the boyz had a rough time with the Firebirds getting beat the first game and 15 innings to put them away the second game, and that long ride home, sure they will get the zzzz they need today, they young they can take it,young guys say yehaww stayed up all night no sleep, old guy says yehaww slept all night didnt wake up once.
but back to the present, I'm sure it will be classic with those hounds, hope their fans can keep under controll,(hope that one guy gets ace a hotdog) throw out the records when we meet ,it will be great baseball.Railroader fans pack it up and support the Railroaders in the series at U>C.

  2. There were as many Fulton fans in UC last night as those supporting the mangy dogs. In spite of the fan support, our boys looked very tired last night. Maybe getting back so late from MO was hard on them.

Let's all hope they get rested today and can beat UC the next two games.

After an off-day on Sunday, we face the league-leading Oilers for a three-game stand at "The Yard."

Come on Railroader fans, there are 5 more games over the next few days where you can see our boys play and help them improve to 2nd place in the league.

  3. tired, tired, played like a bunch of spoiled brats... swinging at every pitch, popping up no hitting at all. looked like they had lead in their shoes, no excuse. they are young and should respect the fact that getting in late is no excuse. but staying up several more hours then sleeping all day is for old people. get your act topgether guys or your going to be on the bottom with the birds if you dont start taking care and knowing the fact that you have to play everyday and cant stay up all hours of the night.people in fulton are counting on you to do the right thing....

  4. i dont get where you get the idea that the kids stay up several more hours? are you serious? this is summer league baseball, and they are KIDS for christs sake, and oh yeah, i forgot that they are playing for the world series and getting paid thousands of dollars to do so. most of the kids are out of their element, not comfortable with their surrounding and you're bitching about how they are tired after getting back at 4am in the morning and waking up the next day having 3 hours and then going to play another baseball game. get serious people
