Time to make our move!

Update Wednesday, June 25: We're doing it and the train is chugging at full throttle down the track and we’re now at the top of the hill. We’ve caught the Oilers and are staring at them face to face. One more game in the Yard with slippery Owensboro before we pack up and head to the birdcage up north and the Firebirds are looking to improve. No time to relax before the next task at hand. The Oilers were looking more determined than ever last night to stop us and I’m sure they are not giving up. They may be beat up and short handed but not out of it. There’s no letting up now. We each have our jobs to do and must do it well. The Railroaders Front Office even gave me the extra task of removing the flies from the concession stand area, and I intend to do my best. So every Player, Fan and Owner is now called upon to do their utmost in driving the train further down the track. Our scheduled pitcher for the this evening is Zach Buxman. The defense is tightening up and bats are alive. Let’s win this one for Coach Estes and take the 1st place spot in the standings.

We need to thank the Bobcats for coming from behind and taking the Pirates back half a notch. I was hoping the Cats wouldn’t hold back anymore and they scratched their way to an upset victory over the Bucs. Let’s work hard for position and take on all comers!

  1. I had to "dead-head" to Union City and a layover on Saturday, and got to see the Railroaders play some outstanding ball. The defense was superb with error free play, 2 double plays and the outfield had their wheels turning tonite! Great play, Guys. I loved Parker cutting down the Dogs' first base runner too. Offense was just as impressive, with 6 runs on only 5 hits. We had them on their heels all night. Good solid pitching from Barrnett and Ryan also. Such a nice nite and I even ran into Boilerstoker who got in late with his load.

The Oilers and Pirates split their doubleheader and we've begun our move up. Only 2 games from first place Oilers who are sliding our way towards the Yard on Monday for 3 nites. The Pirates remain wedged between us and get to take on the Bobcats during the same time frame. As for the Dogs, well they're not nipping at our rear for moment and the Cats are a couple steps behind, ahead of the Dogs I might add.

Let's keep the pressure on, no letting up now! See you at the Yard on Monday. I think Rattle is coming too!

  2. Our pitching is getting better! Through 21 games it appears our team ERA is 3.42 and the league ERA happens to be 3.42, exactly the same. Imagine that!

  3. Aww yes Hog head, had a rough load yesterday but made it to the dogpound last night ,and what a sweet sight to see our crew was handling those pups, the coal dust was thick in my eyes but I could see our guys on their horses in that big ole outfield, infield was playing smart ball as well, If I see the digits right we are right on those oiler heals, Like the price of oil I feel they are overrated, We can get all fired up and rollem down.

  7. The Railroaders need lots of fan support tonight, Tuesday and Wednesday. They are playing the Owensboro Oilers who currently lead the Kitty League. Our winning all these games will put us a long way toward heading back for another pennant win in 2008.

Let's all be there to support OUR RAILROADERS!!!!!

  16. Great two games RAILROADERS!! Now, tonight's win will let su use a switch broom to make a clean sweep of the Oilers' visit to railroad land and put us all alone in 1st place where we belong. In the standings, your great play left UC fading in our steam trail.

Owensboro's only bringing a few players down here. Makes you wonder why doesn't it?

The Railroaders is the premier organization in the KIT league!! We should all be very proud of our boys, our facilities, our fans and our standings in the league.
