Enough Hoppers to shake a stick at!

Three, maybe four, games left to play with the Hoppers and all in a row.  Tonight we complete the regular 2014 season play with Hoptown in Fulton.  The game to decide who is the second place and third place teams in the standings.

The standings determine the seeding for post-season playoffs and the number 2 and 3 teams will meet again tomorrow, Thursday to begin round 2 of the playoffs (round 1 a single game tonight in Dubois, Bombers playing Miners).  Round 2 is different, it will be the best of 3 games, the winner here will play in the final third round for the playoff championship.

The Railroaders and Hoppers will meet tomorrow no question about it, but the question is where?  If the Railroader win tonight they will travel to Hoptown on Thursday for one game, then return to Fulton on Friday for game two and in Fulton on Saturday is a third game is necessary.  If the Hoppers win tonight, the Railroaders will host the Hoppers in Fulton tomorrow, then travel on Friday to Hoptown.

So what’s it to be?  The Railroaders will need all the support they can muster at the Yard tonight.  Hoptown will bring plenty of their own.  This will be the biggest game so far on the year as the Hoppers and Railroaders battle for position.  Hoppers are rested….Railroaders are warmed up and ready.  See you at the Yard or on TeamLine.

  1. I would like to know why our coaches and team owners have remained silent in all of this. It seems that they haven't gone to "bat" for the boys at all. We seem to have pretty decent pitching and maybe those boys will have to work a little harder and throw a few more with less rest to pull us through. Our coaches had better give the boys plenty of notice and a lot of warm up time so they can do their best and pull this team through. Bring out the big guns, hit em long and have no mercy boys!

    1. I can assure you, the owners are holding their tongues to the public but have had plenty to said through league channels. The problems created by the issue would not be served well with more grief and misery. I like our players chances for a title and I think they are ready to play. As for another team who now has clouds over their heads, we'll see. For now, I think its time to move on, play a good clean game and win.

At the field now, looking good after showers earlier and cooling down nicely. A bit of a breeze too.

  2. I agree that the Railroaders seem to have gotten the short end of the stick in this whole ordeal. But, we need to rally behind our players and root for them the best we can. Its do or die time. Come on Railroaders, drag that train up the hill and win this game!

    2. I want to point out a positive in all this. Had the incident not occurred and Hoptown won the game, the Railroaders would have had to beat them on Sunday then take out the Miners in both games in order to take 2nd. If they had loss to DC we would have on needed one game from the Miners. The tie Hoptown accepted was a loss as it concerns the Railroaders. Good thing too, since we dropped the game last night.

    3. I agree with Mr. Hazen but unfortunately this is the situation the Roaders find themselves in through no fault of their own. They are a great team and have been playing some great ball in spite of the issues surrounding them. I know their fans both in The Yard and listening and watching online are behind them 150%. I would hope the Hoppers are respectful to the Roaders and their fans tonight. I know our boys are fired up and ready to hand the Hoppers a loss on a silver platter. #RollTrain

  3. Hi John all by yourself, I can hear you fine! Maybe the game should be here 63 degrees and rain. I am also expecting a good clean game and of course a shout out to the Tacoma crew Mr. Spring, Mr. Main, and Mr. Vernia. Let's put all our respective opinions behind us and support these Railroaders. Play ball!!
