Hoppers first visit to the Yard this season

"Enough is Enough"
The almighty Hoptown Hoppers take on the Railroaders tonight at the Yard. With a 21-2 record and team batting average of .317 they appear to be unstoppable. Their lead in the OVL is near 8 games ahead of the nearest second place battling teams. They are certainly a challenge for any team they face.

The Railroaders struggles continue, but of late they are showing the comeback power at the plate. In their last two games they had late inning rallies from deep deficits to make the games close. They are poised to be spoilers for sure. Our guys have faced off with the Hoppers three times in Hoptown, losing every game. Tonight is a time we can end that trend.

Half of the regular season is gone now, and the hill to climb is steep. The best chance for the Railroaders I think will come in the Post-Season Playoffs. There is plenty of time and room to improve for the season finale. While tonight’s game will be tough, we can still hand Hoptown their third defeat. Let’s get the bats going early and punch out a Hopper defeat!

  1. Some of you experts help me. Paducah's third baseman and best hitter is obnoxious to me as a fan and I wonder if he is to our pitchers. He is in complete control in the batter's box, actually out of it most of the time. He will not get into the batter's box until the pitcher is ready to pitch. Then he always requests time to step in and get ready. He's not doing anything, just standing there waiting for the pitcher to get ready to pitch. Then after every pitch he steps out, waits for the pitcher and then requests time. I know umpires are too lenient regarding these rules. But it seems to me he is violating two rules: (1) the batter is suppose to promptly get into the batter's box and (2) if the pitch is a ball or called strike, the batter must keep at least one foot in the box unless something abnormal happens. Go Railroaders!!!!

  2. Exactly which NCAA rules do you refer to? What Sections? I have look but haven't find them yet.

  3. Looking forward to coming back to "the Yard" for the first time in 2016 season. Hopefully a good crowd from Hopkinsville will follow. Sorry to say it, but "GO HOPPERS"!

  4. Roaders have rallied because other teams turns to position players to pitch when they get 10 runs up , wouldn't you?

    1. Wrong. They turn to their lesser pitchers yes. Not position players. Figure it out.
