Hoppers and Railroaders tonight at the Yard

Our defeat last night evened and completed our regular season record with the Flash; both teams are 2-2 head-to-head for the regular season. Since we only play the East division teams 4 times, we won’t meet up again unless the Post Season Playoff schedule requires it.

Tonight, with the weather permitting, the Hoppers return to Fulton for another game with the Railroaders. This will be the 5th meeting for the two West Division teams. The regular season records between the teams thus far is 2 wins and 2 losses each with 4 more games total left to play. The West continues to be close with the Railroaders (now standing in 3rd place) only 2 games behind the Hoptown with Fulton wedged a half game behind the Miners and a half game ahead of the Chiefs.

The 6th game with the Hoppers is scheduled for tomorrow in Hoptown, but it is looking more like the rain will be the winner on Friday with ‘Cindy” coming on shore today. Let’s hope we can get the game tonight in and a win to go with it.

  7. Very disappointing! Downward trend for last three years! Lots of good players but little production under pressure. Suck it up, you're men now, quit acting like babies when things don't go your way. Lack of leadership on and off field is lacking. Bottom of order gets on base with no outs and top doesn't even put ball in play. Every excuse has a loser! We get out coached continually. Left hand pitchers last night and we have six left-handed batters and the other team has all right handed batters. Most innings we only get 2 outs because of dumb base running. Two nights ago with runners on 2nd and 3rd and two outs, we pitch to DH and same situation they walk our power hitter. Result was a 3 run HR for them and a 4-6 loss for us. Would like to see a game where we have all our best players on the field. Tired of watching lazy show offs get their turn. The game lasts for 9-innings. If you can't gut it out that long, time for players and coaches to quit pretending. No wonder fewer and fewer spectators and many go home early.
