I must have been dizzy. Our own mistakes were our demise last night in the first game, however, two games to go and home tonight. Pretty even stats between the teams, only 4 hits each, a difference of only 3 men left on base, strikeouts close, but not with the errors! We must have caught the bug the Hounds had the night before against the Oilers. We had them in the first inning with a first pitch hit and their only game error, and failed to cash in a run. A man on third with 2 outs, should have got him in, then the hounds would have been dizzy. Thanks to Cory for completing the game, I know it was tough, but you saved precious time for the bullpen, they will need everyone over the next week. Let’s pick up our game a notch and get back to doing what needs done, go after them doggies tonight!

Watch how many times a runner scores from second on a base hit in our league. That is what happened last night. Reinke may have bobbled the ball but that guys is probable going to score either way. Now that error did get the runner to second but if Cory White is so tough then he can battle back and not give up THREE hits in one inning and not give up that last hit to score the other runner from second. I dont want to take anything away from Cory he threw well and got out of all other innings but that one. So dont get on here talking about all these errors the one ball to Gillespie was a tough play which didnt result in a run. Shy's and Cory H.'s errors did not result in a run. Cory's horrible first inning which is just as bad as making errors did not result in any runs but you failed to mention it. Everybody is sick of hearing how everyone screws up Cory's well pitched games. The two runs that beat us were earned they may not say it but little does everyone know HOGHEAD is keeping the stats and he chooses whats an earned run or not and HOGHEAD along with everyone else in this city are the ones who think Cory is the best pitcher in the league. NEWS FLASH Brad Rowland is better than Cory White because he was in the same jams cory was last night and he got out of all of them. So stop blaming Cory's losses on the mound, no runs, or errors because he hasnt been perfect himself!

Such hostilely, sorry it upset you so much. I think I said something about our bats not getting the job done in the first inning, which might have turned the tide in the game. By the way, I’ve never said or thought Cory White is the best pitcher in the league, nor would I (can’t speak for anyone else though). Seems just mentioning his name gets some people stirred up. The keys to losing this game were not only the error(s) but also a failure to get men in scoring position across the plate. Okay, I stand corrected and give you one of the runs earned (still a judgment call) but the other I think not. NOTE: The official scorer for the game was Union City and the computer program selects what is earned or not based upon the play entry. Yes, I change the one earned to unearned from U.C. submission and I’ll change it back based upon your analysis. However, you need to take a chill pill or you’ll never have any fun. Can’t we all just me friends?

ReplyDeleteTo the 1st comment. My gosh, are you on lexapro or ridlin. If you want to be the "official scorer" of the games maybe you should attend some first. Hoghead is just stating a fact that if our defense would have played better the outcome of the game may or may not of been different. Our defense is among the worst in the league. What wins us games? Our pitching and our hitting wins us games 90% of the time. Our defense let us down the other night as well as our hitting. Was it good pitching? Yes very good pitching. We leave too many guys on base, can't get the "big" hit. It has been that way most of the season. Take a look at the stats on our website. It tells you. So instesd of coming down hard on Hoghead then you keep stats for the next game and give them to the webmaster and we'll see what happens. Oh yeah you do know when the next game is, right?
