  1. Responding to all of the blame game going on about what causes a loss. There are thousands of points in a game where the outcome is decided and no one pitcher, one batter or one fielder will determine that outcome. It is the collective result of every single play. The fact is that every single activity collectively is going to determine the outcome. We look to pitchers for giving up runs, but it might be the umpire that calls a close call one way or the other which makes the pitcher pitch differently one night over the other. You can't blame the pitcher for that. The best in the world have good and bad nights which can be caused by the umpires or caused by other things, but in any case it is completely wrong to analzye a game by looking at one part or ther other. What I have seen is there are errors, but about have the time the fields are so bad that the balls are hard to handle. So you can't always look at the perceived fielding mistakes and you can't always look at the pitcher because they go hand in hand. Hitting and base running is sometimes a different story. If you field well and you pitch well, you can't win any games where you don't score runs and from what I have seen scoring runs has been one of the weaker places, but that is why we play summerball with wooden bats, to get better. If you can score 7 or 8 runs a game in this league you can win most games and if you score less, then the other things will come into larger focus. But even the hitting can be impacted heavily by the umpires and how they are calling the game, so once again, there is no one single player or group to blame, and that is why they call it a team sport.
